My Keto Journey

I started this meal plan because no amount of cutting out foods or restricting portions would work for me. I was always ravenous, and I kept putting on weight. It was like my stomach had no off button, and my metabolism wasn't functioning properly. I tried high-protein diets and followed doctors' suggestions, but nothing helped.Then, I came across the keto diet and realized you didn't have to eat steak and cauliflower for the rest of your life. In fact, I've become a little obsessed with cooking and baking now.


My Philosophy
I believe you only live once, and I'm not going to do it miserable and grumpy because I can't eat yummy stuff. However, you can't buy ready-made meals without compromising on taste or carb content. So, it came down to preparing everything I eat from scratch.With this realization came an idea. I can cook for more than two at once, and I know a lot of people don't follow the keto diet because it's confusing and time-consuming. But, I can take that hassle away from you.


My Health Journey
I'm not a doctor or an expert. I've only been on the keto diet for two months, and I've lost nearly 10kg, but some other things have started happening. The specialist attributed it to IBS, and the solution was to take anti-diarrhea medication a couple of times a day.On the keto diet, my 24/7 diarrhea has stopped when eating the keto-friendly grains, and I feel less swollen. According to research, it's probably because the grains are more absorbent, and it turns out gluten seems to be poison to me. Even though I don't seem to crave anything anymore, I realize I still need to eat gluten-free bread to help my system. So, I'm on the keto diet for more than just weight loss. As I continue researching, I realize a lot of people are on the keto diet for reasons other than weight loss. Victoria's Keto Kitchen is on it for her seizures. Others have discovered other reasons to live the keto lifestyle. Somebody discovered how bad antacids are for you, even the prescription side-effects are barely just better than losing the lining of your throat to acid reflux sooner than the side effects.


My Meal Plans
I'm creating meal plan solutions around Harpenden due to the freshness of the meals, and I haven't tested freezing ability yet. My meal plans are well-varied because I love trying new, scrumptious foods. I am also researching madly and presently trying to incorporate bamboo fiber into meals/foods because it has zero net carbs. This allows you to cheat or, if you are short on protein, you can grab some peanuts or snacks I provide.With bamboo fiber, you can make a whole loaf of bread for 3g net carbs.

Let me show you the significance:Here are 10 different normal breads and keto breads produced commercially in the UK, listed in order of net carbs (from highest to lowest), along with the flours they use:
Warburtons Toastie Loaf (normal bread) - Made with wheat flour, around 20g net carbs per slice.
Hovis Soft White Bread (normal bread) - Made with wheat flour, around 18g net carbs per slice.
Kingsmill No Crusts 50/50 Bread (normal bread) - Made with wheat flour and wholemeal flour, around 15g net carbs per slice.
Burgen Soya & Linseed Bread (normal bread) - Made with wheat flour, soya, and linseed, around 12g net carbs per slice.
Genius Gluten Free Brown Bread (gluten-free) - Made with rice flour, tapioca starch, and corn starch, around 10g net carbs per slice.
Hovis Lower Carb Loaf (normal bread) - Made with wheat flour and added fiber, around 8g net carbs per slice.
Keto Bread by The Protein Bread Co. (keto) - Made with wheat protein, egg whites, and psyllium husk, around 4g net carbs per slice.
Keto Bread by Genius Gluten Free (keto, gluten-free) - Made with almond flour, coconut flour, and psyllium husk, around 3g net carbs per slice.
Keto Bread by Sukrin (keto) - Made with almond flour, coconut flour, and psyllium husk, around 2g net carbs per slice.
Keto Bread by Loveseitan (keto, gluten-free, vegan) - Made with almond flour, coconut flour, and flaxseed, around 1g net carbs per slice.

My loaf - with bamboo flour, less than 3g net carbs PER LOAF. The carbs come from the almond flour and eggs.
